Elections were held for the 2012-2013 PTO Board. Congratulations to:

Thanks to this year’s board for all of their hard work!

We also discussed the upcoming Ice Cream Social, JDRF Walk, and Van Hise Night at the Madison Mallards.

The next meeting (last for the school year) is Tuesday, June 5th at 7:00 PM in the Art Room.

We approved funding for 1 computer per K1 classroom. A very generous supporter offered $5,000 for the book room if the PTO would match the donation. The PTO unanimously voted to match this wonderful gift.

The board reported a decision to cancel the rummage sale this year. Stay tuned for information about an exciting science event in its place!

Sarah Peters, an occupational therapist from the Children’s Therapy Network, spoke about sensory regulation and integration. For more information on the Children’s Therapy Network visit their website at ctn-madison.com.

Working on teacher classrooms; tried to keep teachers that team in the same area. Summer School left Monday – a lot of work to get school together for the 1st day

Dan Nerad told Administrators at retreat to relay to families to keep pushing for school finance reform.

Special Education – funding concern

SAFETY:

Discussing pickup/drop-off patterns around the school and how to best keep the kids safe.

The breezeway will be closed before/after school so that the activity/grouping in the hallway is lessened.

REGISTRATION: Have volunteer forms at a table during Enrollment, but will not staff it the whole day.

Review of 2009-10 PTO Events Schedule

Schedule was distributed to members present.

In need of coordinator still for Market Day. Also need a coordinator for Talent Show, as Kris Romain is unable to do it this year.

Kris discussed the need to have an Event Wrap-Up form filled out for each event so that next year’s coordinators would have all the facts/contacts/information necessary to successfully organize the events.

Event Update: Open House

Talked about what sorts of things to have at the Open House for PTO involvement.
There will be a representative from Walgreen’s Take Home Clinic at the Open House to distribute information on how to stay healthy – in response to upcoming flu season.

Conclusions: Have Teachers put a Sign-up for PTO Classroom Reps in their classes. Theresa to speak @ staff meetings to classroom teachers. Have signup for Classroom Yahoo email coordinators. Event Update: Book Fair

Conclusions: Book Fair will be 2 days, Thursday and Friday, Nov 12-14 to coincide with Teacher Conferences.
Books will be delivered Wednesday Nov 11.
